10-12-09 Power Grid said that its board has approved investments amounting to Rs 1,603 crore for various grid strengthening projects.
The central transmission utility has drawn up plans to invest Rs 1,217 crore for system strengthening project for Sasan and Mundra ultra-mega power projects scheduled for completion in 32 months, the company said.

It will also invest Rs 276 crore for strengthening the southern regional grid to be completed in 28 months. An additional Rs 1,100 crore is earmarked for system strengthening of northern region to be completed in 24 months, the company said.
The company announced that the board of directors at its meeting on 3 December has approved the investment proposals.
